Basic knowledge of locks

Lock, as the name suggests, needs to be opened. It is a loyal guardian and an indispensable commodity in modern home decoration. In the past, it played a negligible role in aesthetics in the bedroom and did not attract too much attention from users. With the continuous development of society, people's requirements for the beauty of decoration are also increasing day by day. People's requirements for the function, style and appearance of locks have also undergone qualitative changes.

From the early padlock and marble lock (company order lock) we know, to the current high-tech field's plug-in card coding lock, magnetic card lock, electronic password lock, IC card lock, computer networking lock, cutting-edge field's fingerprint lock, etc. In the trend school, it presents two major schools: Europe and Asia.


（1）、 Types of locks


1. Padlock: it is divided into copper padlock, iron padlock and password padlock. Its main specifications include 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 75mm.


2. Suction lock: it is divided into full copper suction lock, copper sleeve suction lock, aluminum core suction lock and left and right cabinet door locks. Its main specifications include φ 22.5MM and 16mm.


3. Marble door lock: it is divided into single insurance door lock, double insurance door lock, three insurance door lock and multi insurance door lock. Its main brands include "Niutou" and "Shuanggou", "Ma" and "Fengshou" made in Shanghai.


4. Mortise door lock: also known as anti-theft door lock, it is divided into steel mortise door lock and wood mortise door lock. The steel mortise door lock mainly includes two brands: "Shenshi" and "Ma".


5. Ball lock: it is divided into copper ball lock, three tube ball lock and private room lock.


6. Decor lock: it is divided into glass lock, plug-in lock, button lock, electric box switch lock, chain lock, tongue lock, etc.


7. Electric lock: magnetic card lock, IC card lock and password lock.


8. Handle lock.


9. Marine lock, automobile lock.


（2）、 According to the purpose of the lock:


1. Door lock: also known as anti-theft lock. The entrance door is the gate of every family and the watershed between home and outside. It must have a special function, that is, it can play the role of insurance and security. There are usually two doors for entering a house: an iron door and a main door (usually a wooden door). For iron doors, both sides can be locked, commonly known as double head lock. There are usually multi safety door locks and insert core steel door locks. During selection, it shall be noted that the distance between two doors shall not be less than 80mm (8 cm). Otherwise, the distance between the two doors (due to the handle of the lock) is not long enough, and they cannot be closed at the same time, so the anti-theft effect will not be achieved. The wooden door of the main door is generally equipped with a large hand lock, which can play a beautiful role.


2. Room lock: generally refers to the bedroom lock. There is a safety function in the room. Outside the room, use the key to open the handle lock or ball lock with the same function.


3. Bathroom door lock: it is characterized by being able to lock the door inside and equipped with an emergency opening device outside, with red and green display, or a small handle lock with "manned" and "unmanned" display or a ball lock with the same function.


4. Kitchen and access lock: it only plays the role of door handle and windproof, and has no insurance function. It also applies to storage rooms and children's rooms.


（3）、 Precautions for selecting door lock:


1. Choose a brand with quality assurance. Because the brand manufacturers have after-sales services throughout the country, free door-to-door maintenance during the warranty period.


2. Door thickness: 35-50mm, suitable for spherical lock. 35-55 mm plug-in. 42 mm mortise door lock. 35-55 marble door lock


3. Center distance: the door lock shall be selected according to the structure of the door. The latch can be divided into 60mm and 70mm. The latch with a width of more than 100mm shall be 70mm, and the latch with a width of less than 100mm and more than 90mm shall be 60mm.


4. Pay attention to choose the lock with the same opening direction as your door, because the handle lock is divided into left and right handles.


5. In choosing the handle lock, the handle shape of each functional door lock should be consistent to make the room more coordinated.


6. Hinge: the hinge with sufficient strength shall be selected to prevent the door from falling for a long time, which may affect the opening of the lock or even damage it.
